Breffos latest spider-like stand isnt designed for smartphones or tablets, but for digital cameras. The Adventure Camera Kit attaches to the universal 1/4in mounting thread found on most digital cameras, letting you perch it safely on tree branches and railings without worrying about it falling and breaking.
The kit is best suited to compact cameras; we struggled to make it support a Micro Four Thirds camera. We had a little trouble making it sit completely level on a flat surface, but we worked around it. Wed also prefer it to have longer legs. We tried hanging our camera from several thick tree branches but werent confident it would stay in place.
The Adventure Camera Kit is best used for spontaneous snaps rather than carefully composed shots. However, it isnt significantly cheaper than the Joby GorillaPod, which has a flexible design yet can quickly return to a level position. Wed recommend the Joby GorillaPod instead.
