Potential details of the Galaxy NX, Samsung's latest Android-powered camera have appeared online, suggesting an interchangeable lens Compact
system camera (CSC) or Digital SLR.
Expected to sit above the company's existing Galaxy Camera, the Galaxy NX will be based on a 20.3 megapixel APS-C sized sensor with support for capturing images at an ISO sensitivity of up to 25,600 and recording Full HD 1080p video, according to details and images leaked to Vietnamese news site Tinh te.
It may look like a DSLR, but the Galaxy NX doesn't appear to have a mirror between the sensor and the lens, making it a CSC. According to the leak, the lens system will be based on SLR-style interchangeable lenses with an 18-55mm kit lens included with the camera and other models available at launch, including an 18-200mm telephoto. All lenses will apparently include optical image stabilisation.
There is a viewfinder above a 4.3in high-resolution touch-screen, which runs the latest version of Android with access to the Google Play store. Pre-release rumours also suggest that the device will include a SIM-card slot, allowing for connection to a 3G, or possibly 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE), mobile network for image sharing even when away from a wireless access point.
Samsung has yet to formally confirm the existence of the Galaxy NX, but it is expected to be formally unveiled at a London-based event on the 20th of June.
